What is the process for pledging shares?

To pledge your shares on the Torus platform, please follow these steps to ensure a seamless and efficient process. The procedure is designed to be prompt, with shares being pledged almost immediately, making them available as collateral for your margin requirements without delay. 

Step 1 : Log in to your Torus account via the web platform or mobile app. 



Step 2 : Navigate to the “My Account” section and select “Pledge / Unpledge” 



Step 3 : Select the shares and enter the quantity you wish to pledge from your holdings. 



Step 4 : Proceed by clicking ‘Pledge’, you will be redirected to the CDSL page.


Step 5 : An OTP will be generated and sent to your registered Mobile Number and Email ID from CDSL (Depository Participant). The OTP will remain valid for 15 minutes. Authenticate the transaction by entering the OTP.



Step 6 : Once authenticated, the pledge will be marked in favor of Torus.


Once these steps are completed, your shares will be held as collateral for your margin requirements. The pledging process is executed immediately after OTP verification, ensuring your trading limits are updated swiftly.
